Job Description

1. Prior experience working with analytics technologies/advanced analytics

2. Experience supporting analytics and data engineering projects

3. Strong experience working in an agile environment (familiarity with XP practices ideal)

4. Able to deal with ambiguity and complete job with minimal set of directions

5. Able to handle stakeholders and communicate in a concise way

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage high impact data engineering and data analytics projects (major change, risk, visibility or financial components) within the organization. Under minimal supervision, demonstrates highly advanced skills in project management to define, plan, organize, track and monitor, and oversee a multitude of projects to meet defined requirements or business specifications. Functions performed include scope & change management, team management, business analysis, communications, risk/issue management, quality management and interpersonal relations to manage project(s) which are often cross-functional in nature. Provides subject matter expertise and effective, actionable, and practical advice to management to impact strategic direction in area of business or technical focus.

 

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Ability to manage an assortment of small, medium, & large insights & analytics projects successfully according to the expectations of key stakeholders. Trusted to manage Executive or C-level stakeholder relationships

•Create Communication Plans & ensures timely / relevant communications.

•Help stakeholders navigate through the PMO's project intake process

•Manage project status within the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)

•Ensure agile teams continue to follow established norms and best practices

•Builds trusted relationships with peers & team members. Works to keep that trust & gain trust of those that may not be like-minded.

•Manage vendor relationships

•Facilitate application demos

•Suggest refinements to solutions suggested by others where appropriate. Adapt to change quickly

•Makes thoughtful decisions after weighing facts & opinions and accepts responsibility for those decisions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Minimum 5 years related to IT, Data, or Analytics project management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

•Minimum of 3-4+ years’ experience as a Project Manager

•At least 2 years of experience with data science life cycles or software development life cycles

•A general understanding or hands-on experience with data ecosystems

•Passion for data and analytics to drive business value

•Proven team leadership experience and leading diverse teams

•Detail-oriented and extremely organized

•Excellent written and oral communications with ability to plan and facilitate effective meetings. Adjusts style of communications and content according to their audience

•Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadlines and pressure

•Excellent presentation skills and experience in presenting to senior leadership

•Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Visio, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project/PPM Applications

•Proficiency in Agile development methodologies and practices (SCRUM, Kanban) required for a software development focus

•Prior experience in projects involving Cloud platforms, Tableau, Snowflake, & MPP Databases such as Netezza

•Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of Atlas Sian Products (Jira, Confluence) is a plus

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

•BS/BA in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred

•Experience with Agile SCRUM/Kanban methodology preferred
